Amber Riley covered Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” as Mercedes on tonight’s episode of Glee. The performance was a coincidental tribute to the powerhouse singer who died on Saturday night.
The idea that the episode was filmed before Houston died is slightly eerie, but Riley’s rendition of the song was amazing. Riley proved she has the vocals to belt out the hit that Jennifer Hudson sang to honor Houston’s memory at Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
Maroon 5’s lead singer Adam Levine started his own recording label called “222,” and already signed his first artist, Matthew Morrison, better known to “Glee” fans as Mr. Schu or Will Schuester.
Levine will release Morrison’s second album in Spring 2012.
“Starting my own label has been a longtime goal of mine, and I am thrilled to be at the point in my career where it is finally happening,” Levine told Billboard magazine.
As a coach on “The Voice,” Levine is no amateur to discovering talent, and I am excited to see what other big names come out of 222 Records.
Guess who’s coming to #Glee?! Helen Mirren and Gloria Estefan.
Mirren is said to be doing voice over for the show (she’s too good to actually be in it?)
Estefan is said to be playing Santana’s Mom in the show.
I’m excited, I hope Helen will sing!
A Glee spin-off!? Is this real!?
Guess that means they all graduate and move to … New York?
